How my journey began
As the oldest of seven kids, I grew up with a love for reading and a wild imagination that often turned into “playing school.” Writing and teaching were always dreams of mine. I just loved the idea of learning something new, putting it into words, and then helping someone else understand it. Looking back, I can see how God planted that desire in me early on: to encourage, to guide, and to equip others.
Fast forward a bit—I’ve been married to my best friend for almost 40 years now. We have three grown children, all married, and they’ve blessed us with four amazing grandchildren who light up our world. But life hasn’t been without its challenges. When I was 40, I was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer. To say it was life-changing would be an understatement. The treatments were tough, the fear was real, and yet, God was even more real. In the middle of weakness and uncertainty, I experienced His strength like never before. That season taught me the value of every single day and gave me a deeper faith that I carry with me still.
In 2015, I launched Fresh Impact, a business that started out of my love for helping people and quickly became so much more. It’s given me the opportunity to walk alongside entrepreneurs and small business owners, encouraging them and helping them find clarity and confidence. Around the same time, my family and I began pouring into Hope Lives Now, a ministry born out of our own journey with cancer and suffering. It’s a reminder we all need: hope is alive today because of Jesus.
Now, in this season of life, I know how challenging it can be to balance faith, family, and the realities of middle age. That’s why I’m so passionate about encouraging and equipping women, to remind you that you’re not alone and that your story matters. God can use every part of our journey, even the hard parts, to shape us into women who live with faith, hope, and courage. My prayer is that here you’ll find a friend to walk alongside you and a fresh reminder that in Jesus, you are rooted and radiant.
